Canva connection
Privacy policy
This page explains how Hatch Media Inc. handles information when you connect your Canva account to your Hatch Media client portal.
Effective October 14, 2026
What the connection does
With your permission, Hatch Media adds eligible photos from your unlocked property and session photo grids to folders in your Canva account. New and revised photos sync automatically while the connection is on. You may request a one-time sync of older photos. You can also open a synced photo in a Canva design.
Information we use
- Your Hatch Media portal account and client membership, to confirm which photos you may access.
- Your Canva app-specific account identifier, the permissions you grant, and encrypted access credentials, to maintain the connection.
- The property address or session title used to name a folder, and the web-sized JPEG versions of eligible delivered photos that we send to Canva.
- Canva folder, photo, and design identifiers, plus sync status and short error codes, so we can keep your folder current and help resolve problems.
We do not ask for your Canva password. This notice covers the Canva connection; your other Hatch Media services may involve additional information.
How information is used and shared
We use this information only to connect your account, check photo eligibility, upload and organize photos, update or remove copies managed by this connection, open a photo in a design when you ask, and support or secure the service. We send the selected photo copies and folder names to Canva under the permissions you approve. Our hosting, database, and storage providers process the information needed to operate the connection. Those providers may process data outside Canada. We do not use this connection to sell your photos or Canva account information.
Your choices and what happens to photos
- You can pause or resume automatic sync in the Hatch Media App Store. A request already in progress may finish after you pause.
- Older photos are sent only if you choose the one-time sync.
- If a photo is revised, we first add the new version, then try to move the previous copy managed by this connection to Canva trash. If a photo leaves your Hatch Media grid, we try to move its managed Canva copy to trash.
- Photos already placed in Canva designs may remain there even when the folder copy is replaced or removed.
- You can disconnect in the App Store. We remove the connection credentials and sync records from the active database and attempt to revoke the Canva grant. You can also remove Hatch Media’s access in Canva. Photos already in Canva remain in your account; you can manage them there.
Security and retention
We keep Canva credentials encrypted at rest and restrict access to the connection data. A temporary authorization request expires after ten minutes. We keep connection and sync records while the connection remains active; disconnecting removes those records from the active database. Hatch Media source photos are retained under the terms of the underlying media service, separately from this Canva connection. Service logs and backups may follow the retention periods of our providers.
Questions and requests
To ask about your information, request access or correction, or get help with deletion, email info@hatch-media.ca. You may also disconnect Canva at any time in your Hatch Media App Store. We may update this notice as the connection changes; the current version will be available at this URL.
